Education: Masters of Education in Teaching and Curriculum, Lourdes University 2012
Experience: Miss Cheryl has over 30 years’ experience in the Early Childhood Education field. She has worked with infants through school aged children in the preschool setting and also had a family childcare center in her home when her own children were young. She actually helped start the preschool program here at Saint Joseph 15 years ago and is excited to share her love of teaching in a Catholic school!
More about me: I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Tim for 28 years. We have been blessed with two children. Our daughter Sami, is an Early Intervention specialist working with preschool children and our son Andrew (SJPS alum), is in the doctorate program at University of Findlay studying Occupational Therapy. As a family we love spending time together and especially enjoy camping, and kayaking!
Education: Owens Community College Associate Degree Early Childhood Education
Experience: Miss Heather began as a preschool teacher assistant with Miss Julie from 2012-2018. In 2018, she began teaching the Big-Hearted Bears class. Miss Heather has volunteered at SJPS for VBS, Sunday School, PTO, Positive Direction, and Festirama over the past 13 years.
More About Me: Miss Heather has been married to her husband Trevor, for 20 years. Their sons Kaden and Braeden are alum of SJPPS and SJPS and are now at St. John's Jesuit Highschool.
In my spare time I enjoy watching my sons play baseball, gardening, and travelling with my family to Florida.
Education: Monroe Community College
Experience: Miss Juile has been teaching preschool for 32 years. She has been at Saint Joseph Preschool for 10 years. She has always taught in a Catholic school setting and enjoys being able to teach about God daily.
More about me: I love teaching at Saint Joseph and watching children learn and discover the world around them! I am married to my wonderful husband Flyod and we have 2 daughters in college- Lauren and Anna. I enjoy cooking, baking and spending time with family and reading a good book.
Experience: Miss Chrystie taught in the Cleveland and Toledo Catholic Diocese for five years before staying home to raise her children. Once her twins started school, she went back to teaching and has been teaching preschool for 7 years.
More about me: I am excited to be teaching in my family’s school/parish community! My husband, Mike and I have four children: one daughter and three sons. My oldest, Samantha, is a freshman at NDA. My three boys are also Jaguars; Collin is in 7th grade and twins Hunter and Holden are in 4th grade. I love spending time with family, whether it be making dinner, riding bikes, walking our dog, playing a board game, or watching my boys play hockey.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (emphasis in Child Development), John Carroll University.
Experience: Miss Melinda volunteers her time with Mobile Meals of Toledo. She has been an early childhood educator for over thirty years. Due to her husband’s career in the Air Force she has taught and directed in California, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. Thirteen of them have been at Saint Joseph Parish Preschool!
More about me: I attended Saint Joseph School as a child and also have two sons who have graduated from Saint Joseph. My youngest son is Mr. Jake, our after-care schoolteacher. One more interesting fact is that I have a twin brother!
Education: Early Childhood Degree from Owens Community College
Experience: Miss Amy been a preschool assistant for 7 years at SJPS.
More about me: My husband, Jason and I have 2 children. Jacob attends St. John’s Jesuit and Morgan is in 6th grade at SJPS. In my free time I enjoy traveling with my family.
Education: Miss Amy is an alumnus of SJPS and St. Ursula Academy.
Experience: Mr. Jake volunteers his time with Sylvania Schools in their Summer Reading Program. This is Mr. Jake’s third year at Saint Joseph Preschool.
More about me: I wanted to be a teacher since I was in 1st grade! I attended Saint Joseph Parish School from Kindergarten to 8th Grade! Miss Melinda, one of the preschool teachers is my mom!
Education: Jake graduated from St. John’s Jesuit High School and Academy in 2018. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lourdes University and will graduate in the spring of 2022!
Experience: Miss Jennice has worked at Saint Joseph Preschool since it first began in 2006.
More about me: My youngest son, Justin (18) was in the very first 4-year-old classroom with Miss Cheryl as his teacher. My other two children; Sean (27) and Meghan (25) each attended Saint Joseph Elementary for 9 years. All three of my children attended the University of Toledo like my husband and me. Our family enjoys the company of our 9-year-old King Charles Cavalier named “Charlie.” My husband Dan and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary!
Education: Bachelor of Education (K-8) from the University of Toledo; specialization in Early Childhood Education and graduated in 1989.
Experience: Miss Shelly has been a preschool assistant for the past 5 years. She was an SJPS parent for nine years when her daughter Maddie attended Saint Joseph Parish School K-8 grade. Throughout those years Miss Shelly volunteered her time for positive direction, PTO and Festirama.
More about me: I have been married to my husband Vince for 20 years. Our daughter Maddie, an SJPS alum, is a senior at Notre Dame Academy. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening and traveling with my family. In fact, every year we travel to visit family in Philly.
