School Librarian’s Corner

We are blessed to offer the support of a school library to our students.  Librarian, Mrs. Patricia Unger, is available daily.  Many activities are planned throughout the school year to foster a life-long habit  to  read. These include “Book Talks,” Right-to-Read Week and the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Families are encouraged to participate in the “Birthday Book Club” and donate a book to the school library in honor of their student’s birthday. The St. Joseph Literacy Committee is comprised of primary grade teachers and reading specialists, with the objective of developing the necessary skills a student needs to be a successful reader.  The added support of this dedicated committee provides both students and parents with creative ideas to keep kids reading!

The school library is always in need of parent volunteers!  If you are interested in volunteering during your child’s designated time, please contact Mrs. Patricia Unger.
